The Lab

Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Caveney lab is in freshly built out Temerty Faculty of Medicine laboratory space at 777 Bay St.

The Caveney lab features a modern open-concept dry-lab and over 1000 square feet of wet-lab space, including a dedicated cryoEM sample prep room and tissue culture suite.

The Lab Space

Key Equipment

In addition to standard laboratory equipment, the Caveney lab has the following dedicated equipment:

  • CytoFLEX S - Flow Cytometer - 4 laser (V-B-Y-R), 13 parameter, plate auto-sampler

  • Vitrobot Mark IV - Plunge Freezer for cryoEM vitrification

  • GPU Compute Cluster - 8 x RTX 4500 ADA, 4 x 16 core/32 thread CPU, 1TB RAM, 500TB data storage

The Caveney lab also has access to the following local facilities (among others):

  • UofT MIL Facility

    • 200keV Glacios 2, Falcon 4i, Selectris energy filter

  • SickKids/UofT/UHN NBIF Facility

    • 300keV Krios, Falcon 4i, Selectris energy filter

  • SickKids SBC Facility

    • SPR, BLI, ITC, MST, etc.
